Baylor's BBQ Bash

Baylor is the son of Tyler Scotting and Stormi Vanden Bosch born on October 31, 2019. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sulfatase Deficiency (MSD). MSD is a rare genetic condition that inhibits the body’s natural ability to dispose of cellular waste. Without the ability to dispose of cellular waste, the body ultimately will not survive. Baylor is 1 of 20 known cases of MSD in the United States and most children will not likely see their 10th birthday.

Baylor had an MRI in July 2022. The results were worse than expected and his decline has happened rapidly. He’s no longer crawling, sitting, or holding bottles. Baylor started preschool from home after his 3rd birthday and has been working hard with his therapists to keep skills as long as possible. His eye movements were confirmed as seizures in January 2023, happening many times a day. His pain hasn’t been easy to control with many trips to the ER. We’ve entered palliative care where we can only treat symptoms, not the cause.
